While you are not required to follow a particular curriculum, we provide learning activities that are broadly in line with National Curriculum expectations in England. What’s more, we provide answers and exemplar responses as well as useful links to learning support materials.

Section 7 of the Education Act 1996 requires that:

The parent of every child of compulsory school age shall cause him to receive efficient full-time education suitable –
(a) to his age, ability and aptitude, and
(b) to any special educational needs he may have, either by regular attendance at school or otherwise.

UK Government Guidance

This recognises that each child learns at a different rate so you can choose the learning that best suits your child’s needs. If they are not ready for Year 8, Year 7 work is probably fine. If you are not aiming for (I)GCSEs at all, then the world is your oyster!

Due to high demand for face-to-face and Zoom sessions, in 2022 we began to pull learning together to create courses that can be completed remotely with both structure and a degree of independence. So far we have covered English (KS3 and KS4/GCSE/IGCSE) but we are working on the other subjects we teach too. On purchase of a Year 10 or 11 course, you will be asked which exam board you are aiming for. This is important because different boards have different requirements.

All work that is emailed to us as part of a course is marked and careful feedback provided.

Of course, your home-educating journey is unique to your family so students do not have to complete every activity in a course (unless they are studying for GCSE or IGCSE). Our aim is simply to provide structure and progression so that when you come to write your LA report most of the work is done for you and so you can feel confident about where your child is currently and what they are aiming for.

Testimonies

“I agreed to take part in the trial of the new materials and I am glad I did! The courses were age-appropriate, engaging and offered us a much-needed structure. Being able to pay weekly was also very helpful.” Owen, Essex.

“My Favourite Tutor asked us if we would take part in the trial and we agreed. We were impressed by the materials and also by their eagerness to listen to feedback.” Mike, Suffolk.
